"I wish I had known about studying for a college degree in Europe during high school." – Jacob
My journey began at Kents Hill School, a boarding school in Maine, where I first experienced life abroad…
…Growing up both in China and the U.S., the idea of studying abroad for a college degree in Europe was not on my mind while in high school.
After high school, I attended Franklin and Marshall College in Pennsylvania, but with a unique twist—I spent three semesters studying in Cologne and Heidelberg, Germany.
This unconventional experience broadened my perspective and made me regret not exploring the option of an affordable college degree in Europe during high school.
After college, I returned to Germany to pursue a master’s degree at the University of Bonn. Subsequently, I began working full-time as a data scientist at the German Statistical Office.
Despite the comfort of a full-time job in Germany with 30 paid holidays, public health insurance, and other benefits, I cannot bear to not act on my idea of providing counseling services for international students seeking affordable college degrees.
